You did a great job in transforming the dresser, but I think I preferred the original handles – but pure up and polished. More dramatic against the white paint of the dresser. But that’s just my opinion. I have conspecific spyglass doorknobs on all the doors to the bedrooms in my 100-year-pristine house – they were origin to the tenement and I have to Saw, they look good.

The real pizazz came from the hardware.  A few years past I stumbled up on a bucket full of pristine lens doorknobs at a bailey sale in my neighborhood.  They weren’t noticeable with a price and I had no intention what I was going to use them for, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to seek how much they were.  Ten bucks!  For the entire bucket!  You’d better believe I snatched them up in a hurry.  It just goes to show you never know what you will find at yard sales.  When this little dresser project came along, it seemed like the perfect time to pull them out.

After you find your dresser your first stop should be the hardware magazine. When shopping for rope you’ll find that most stores have a variety of sizes, colors, and interweave to choose from. I picked a 1/2-inch white nylon rope for this project because I like the sound color and the slight sheen, but don’t be afraid to try a bolder color or interweave.

Doorknobs don’t work quite the same way as typical draughtsman pulls, so I had to get a slight bit creative to compel these work.  Truthfully though, the whole thing was way easier than I expected.  I chose six similar glass doorknobs from my stash.  Some old doorknobs have small square excavation but mine each had a round threaded excavation.  That made finding peculiar ironmongery to attach them much easier!
